On Tuesday 23rd May at 1pm the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Vascular and Venous Disease held its Annual General Meeting. There was a formal election of officers and the Group's income and expenditure statement for publication was agreed.
The following officers were elected:
Jim Shannon, Democratic Unionist Party MP for Strangford - Chair and registered contact
Sir Peter Bottomley, Conservative MP for Worthing West - Officer
Marion Fellows, Scottish National Party MP for Motherwell and Wishaw - Officer
Emma Hardy, Labour MP for Kingston upon Hull West and Hessle - Officer
Greg Smith, Conservative MP for Buckingham - Officer
Healthcomms Consulting Ltd as part of the PLMR Group was reappointed as Secretariat.
The purpose statement of the Group was re-confirmed as:
To raise awareness of vascular and venous disease and to encourage actions to promote a greater priority for its prevention and treatment; to encourage research into the causes of vascular and venous disease; to advance excellence and innovation in vascular and venous disease and related cardiovascular conditions.
The Secretariat read the Income & Expenditure Statement for the Group, which was confirmed by the officers.
The financial value of grants received by the Secretariat for the previous year was noted as: Value £s in bands of £1,500: £58,501 - £60,000
